The Puerto Rican legal system is composed of an amalgam of institutions and legal precepts of civilist tradition that are articulated through American federalism. El autor tiene una Maestría en Derecho con énfasis en Formación Judicial por la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Posee una licenciatura en Derecho de la Universidad de la Habana y un Grado de Juris Doctor en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico. Ha ejercido la profesión de abogado penalista en Cuba y Puerto Rico, respectivamente.
