The venom of wasps and spiders has been considered an important source ofneuroactive compounds. Thus, the objectives of this study were to evaluate the the neurobiological activity of the crude and denatured venom of the social wasp Polybia occidentalis, as well as to identify and characterize the compounds that presented anticonvulsant and antinociceptive effects when injected into the in the CNS of rats.
