This work was developed after being linked to the Postgraduate Programme in Mathematics Education, at master's level, at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and aims to analyse the contributions of the Observatory of Education group in the actions of a pedagogical coordinator. The following stages were developed: Understanding the actions of a pedagogical coordinator, based on being part of a project focused on collaborative work and understanding the new perspectives of this coordinator based on the discussions in the study group. The theoretical references were based on the following authors: Franco (2008), Fusari (2007), Libâneo (2003), among others. The research approach was qualitative and the methodological procedures adopted were: autobiographies, narrative interviews and reflective sessions. With this work, we hope to expand the production of knowledge in the educational field that can subsidise discussions about the training of teachers who teach mathematics in basic education.
