New Windsor locals remember Nellie Murray's Ice Cream Shop, the firehouse parties and parades, riding their bikes around Ducktown, and learning to drive a car in the gravel bank or in one of the cemeteries. Old businesses closed; new ones opened. Subsequent years and population growth have seen businesses, organizations, churches, and schools dominate this historical community.
