Double-decker buses were used nearly exclusively on this route from its inception on November 2, 1924, until 1927, when they were replaced with single-deck coaches. Over the course of the next 75 years, the 25 Delaware bus expanded considerably, maintaining its "trunk" service between Downtown Buffalo and as far as Delaware and Sheridan Drive on many of the trips.
