Niaz Caan is an award-winning restaurateur and chef, renowned for his highly decorated, award-winning curry house, City Spice, in Brick Lane, London. Born in Whitechapel, Niaz has taken City Spice from strength to strength, with successes in Indian cooking and restaurant service. In 2018, he launched a vegan menu at City Spice. One of the first bespoke vegan menus in an award-winning restaurant, it was lauded by critics and featured on ITV and BBC. Niaz has also been featured on Channel 5 and Channel 4 for his food. Niaz holds a first-class BSc in Economics from the University of Birmingham. In his spare time, he avidly experiments with new dishes, stays fit, and loves to spend time with his family.
