This work is part of the Ph.D. work carried out by the author at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati under the guidance of Dr. Ramgopal Uppaluri. The contents of the book include preparation of ceramic membrane supports and electroless deposition of nickel on to the ceramic substrate along with the application of various mass transfer enhancement techniques such as bath agitation, membrane rotation, ultrasonication and hydrothermal methods. Sodium hypophosphite as well as hydrazine were used as reducing agents. The initial nickel concentration, solution loading as well as choice of reducing agent affected the conversion, efficiency, nickel layer thickness and porosity.
