The contents of the book include preparation of ceramic membrane supports and electroless deposition of nickel on to the ceramic substrate along with the application of various mass transfer enhancement techniques such as bath agitation, membrane rotation, ultrasonication and hydrothermal methods. Sodium hypophosphite as well as hydrazine were used as reducing agents. The initial nickel concentration, solution loading as well as choice of reducing agent affected the conversion, efficiency, nickel layer thickness and porosity.

Dr. Vijaya Kumar Bulasara is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in the year 2011. He is specialized in ceramic membranes, electroless plating, adsorption and wastewater treatment.
