Laird Addis is emeritus professor of philosophy at the University of Iowa, where he taught for forty-one years. He is the author of The Logic of Society: A Philosophical Study (1975); Natural Signs: A Theory of Intentionality (1989); Of Mind and Music (1999, 2004); and Mind: Ontology and Explanation (2008).
