Autorenporträt
Deirdra Doan's memories of Santa coming to her home to hand out presents on Christmas Eve inspired the tale Nikki and the Christmas Star, which contains parallels her own early life "wandering" the US and abroad as an army brat. As an adult, Deirdra's passion for beauty led her to Art College in Berkeley, California, where creativity runs wild. She now works in mixed media and digital art, and her work has been featured in national publications. For Deirdra, Christmas is a time filled with myth, truth, sparkling dark nights, and fantasy, and she brings these sensibilities along with her Scandinavian heritage to her art and storytelling. Deirdra lives in Oregon with her musician husband John and her French Bulldog Lyra. Visit her online at www.deirdradoan.blogspot.com
