For the past forty-five years, LJ Reed has dealt with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as a result of combat while fighting as a U.S. Marine in the Vietnam War. In Nineteen to Life, the author writes an honest and revealing account of the difficulties he's faced as a result of the disorder and the difficulties it's caused in his decision-making, career, relationships, and every other aspect of his existence. Reed hopes that by writing about the demons and struggles he's faced, he can help others understand the illness and how it can affect one's life and family. Nineteen to Life is an eye-opening autobiography, especially for those who have not served during wartime. About the Author LJ Reed has worked extensively in the computer field but has also been a welder, a painter, and a disc jockey. He also dabbles in amateur astronomy. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, he now lives in Kennesaw, Georgia. He and his wife, who encouraged him to write Nineteen to Life, have eight children and eleven granchildren.
