Autorenporträt
Juanita Walker (Nita) was born in Dawson, Georgia, in the County of Terrell. She is the mother of three, Edward, Brittani, and Kenneth. She has a grandson named Robert Edward Shingles. Nita has dedicated her life to serving those who are less fortunate. Her goals are to always be there for people of the community who are in need. She committed her life to fulfilling that goal by pursuing her education. She was the first in her family to graduate college. Armed with a college degree, she could continue her mission. She started her journey with a career as a police officer with the City of Miami Police Department. She was later promoted to become the head of the community relations department of the City of Miami police department. She retired after 30 years as a Police Major/Assistant Chief. During her tenure on the police force, she enhanced the lives of residents in areas of high crime and low income. She was on a quest to change the conditions of the youth in less fortunate neighborhoods. Nita created and established a program for young ladies called Girls of Today are Women of Tomorrow which was supported by State Attorney Janet Reno and Bill Cauchi MPD. Nita became a successful fashion model. She modeled for the department store Burdines, The Fashion Mart, Versace, and several local fashion designers. Later, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open Sheyes Learning Centers and Sheyes Elementary School (K-5th grades). Nita believes in giving and assisting other people to reach their committed goals.
