Autorenporträt
December 26, 2013, Demetrica L. Meechie Jefferis was officially diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ, in both breasts. Three months earlier, on her 43rd birthday, the Lord told her to perform a breast self- examination. She attributes early detection of her cancer and a cancer-free life to God choosing to speak to her, and obeying His command. As a result of her journey, Meechie established a breast cancer support group to assist other survivors and their families through their journeys. She continues to support breast cancer survivors and their families, locally and nationally. The Chicago native retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of faithful service. During her tenure, she traveled throughout the United States and abroad. She also deployed in support of many operations such as NORTHERN WATCH, SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, and ENDURING FREEDOM.
