Dane Kiambi brings outstanding expertise in strategic communications and a deep passion for creating transformative children's literature that celebrates diversity, identity, inclusion, and empowerment. As the founder of Pathfinder Book Press, Dane is committed to publishing impactful stories that foster self-worth, representation, and belonging. An associate professor of Public Relations at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dane mentors students who excel in their field, including a 1st place national victory in 2022 in the prestigious PRSSA Bateman Competition. His award-winning research in international public relations, public diplomacy, and crisis communication has earned global recognition and has been published in leading academic journals. Dane collaborates with his twin daughters, Alexis and Ariana - co-founders of Pathfinder Book Press - to craft stories that inspire young readers. Their first book, No Scrub: My Black Skin Makes Me Beautiful, is a powerful celebration of Black beauty and diversity in children's books, teaching children to embrace their identities and value the beauty in others. Pathfinder Book Press is dedicated to setting a new standard for inclusive children's literature. It combines real-world experiences with rigorous research to create books that spark conversations about identity, race, and self-worth.
