Born in Auckland, NZ in 1929. The youngest and only lad of 3. My intrigue and excitement of the ocean was brought to life, on the mudflats at the back of Stanley Bay. Where I had ditched my brand new bike to follow my mates who had found the bottom of a wrecked 5 metre sailing skiff. The beginning of my exciting imagination of being a "Viking" that grew to life taking me to far-off lands and exciting opportunities. (However I never became a Viking) Boundless lessons and challenges that left me being in awe of many, many wonderful places, memories of people that became lifelong friends. After marrying twice and having 2 daughters, several grandchildren and great grandchildren - its time to relax and share my stories and adventures from the comfort of my chair, while enjoying the peaceful mountain views in North Queensland.
