Adventure is often nothing more than the courageous opening of an unknown door, hoping for more than one has and making the best of what one finds. The American frontier was a door of hope for generations of Americans. This history in story form includes four main sections: Uncle Dick's Story, Sketches (mini-encyclopedia of Western topics), Album (photos, maps, illustrations), Timeline (Western, U.S., and some world events). Also included: Table of Contents, Prologue, extensive Bibliography, Index. This non-revisionist history is written from a Southwestern perspective.
