This book is the result of research carried out in the field of non-formal education as part of the Master's Programme in Education at UNIOESTE - Campus Francisco Beltrão. In it, we investigated how non-formal education takes place and the educational practice of the Padre Ludovico Redin Youth Centre in the municipality of Realeza - PR. It is characterised as a case study, which is linked to the writings of Freire (1997), Gohn (2001 and 2010), Caro and Guzzo (2004), Fernandes and Park (2005), Cendales and Mariño (2006), Libâneo (2007), Park, Fernandes and Carnicel (2007), Ghanem & Trilha (2008) and Saviani (2013) who, in common, consider education as a possibility for social transformation. We present the field of action with the specificities and fundamental principles of formal, informal and non-formal education. Thus, one of the main purposes of this book is to publicise the results of this research, in the context in which it was developed, capable of providing the subjects involved with an understanding of what non-formal education is, as well as its relationship with the educational practice of the CJPLR and its importance in the development of children and adolescents.
