Autorenporträt
Emma Frankland is an award winning writer, theatre maker and performer, whose work is often described as playfully destructive, and gloriously irreverent. Over the past decade, Emma's status has been established as a prominent and innovative theatre artist, whose work has been focussed on issues around gender identity and politically motivated performances. She has written five solo shows, which were published by Methuen in 2019 as a collected volume "None of Us is Yet a Robot - Five Performances on Gender Identity and the Politics of Transition." In 2023 she co-adapted John Lyly's classic play Galatea which was performed as part of Brighton Festival and is published by Bloomsbury. She is Deputy Chair of the board for Selina Thompson Limited and has given consultancy on trans equality issues for many organisations. Most recently she has written for Channel 4's iconic continuing drama Hollyoaks. Emma also works as an actor and has appeared onstage at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and Stratford East Theatre Royal and in multiple roles for BBC radio and television.
