Autorenporträt
Mette Pedersen Ph.D. FRSM has been working in private practice as an otolaryngologist in Copenhagen, Denmark, treating voice problems for more than 40 years. Her primary professional and research interests are in the field of voice production and voice disorders, for 10 years she also worked as a consultant laryngologist at the Copenhagen Singing School and acquired knowledge on the normal development of voice in girls and boys. The underlying perspective was to predict the voice change in high sopranos as demanded by the school's founder. For 4 years she was one of two Danish medical representatives in COST 2103 created by the European Union to exchange knowledge on voice studies in the EU. Yearly voice symposia based on COST were held in Denmark from 2010 to 2018. The 7th World Voice Consortium conference was held in Copenhagen in 2017 under her presidency. She is a board member of the Danish Voice Association, which is part of EVTA, the International Voice Association, and has beena Danish representative in the European Union of Phoniatricians for many years.
