Produktbeschreibung
Northern Lights is a fresh, contemporary anthology of spiritual writing by Canada's most notable Christian authors--as well as introducing writers of caliber whose voices are just beginning to be heard. The writing will be rooted in Canadian landscape and reflect the diversity of heritages within Canada, including aboriginal. The writing will represent a broad spectrum of theological traditions (Catholic, mainstream Protestant, evangelical, Orthodox). The volume will include a cross-section of genres, including personal meditation, memoir, some fiction, and poetry. Even Canadians on the margins of faith will find thought-provoking ideas to take away with them. Readers will find the book reflective and inspirational, not preachy or cliched. The anthology will not be a platform for posturing on divisive or political issues, but a celebration of the common ground Canadians share. Among the authors who will be represented in the anthology are Rudy Wiebe, Ronald Rolheiser, Joanne Gerber, Maxine Hancock, Peter Short, James Taylor, Mark Buchanan, Mary Jo Leddy, Molly Wolf, Daniel Coleman, and James Loney. The selections number about 40, ranging from short pieces of a few hundred words to longer treatments of 3,000 words. The anthology will be thematically organized around the concepts of geography, Gospel story, emotion evinced through spiritual experience, and sense of home.
