2018 BRAND NEW - REVISED EDTION WWW.NORTHERNOZ.COM NORTHERN OZ Beyond The Yellow Brick Road By VjKelly Long ago the wondrous Land of Oz was discovered by generations of children and adults alike. But what few people knew was across the great desert and beyond the most northern territories of Oz was a land long ago forgotten. That land was Northern Oz. Once connected to all the counties within Oz by the Yellow Brick Road it became forever separated by an evil spell cast by a wicked sorceress. She covered the great desert with a dreary, dense fog that thwarted any attempt at crossing. Since then Northern Oz has existed only as a memory, passed down from one generation to the next ...until now. So come and join Kristi and her friends, Obo the street clown, Oddbitz the crash car dummy, Timba who is half wolf half man, and the floating-darting Wim the little Wimbididee as they journey through the exciting and magical lands of Northern Oz. The story takes place in a land I learned to love as a child. Northern Oz is the first of three books about the adventures of Kristi and her friends in the lands over and beyond the rainbow. They go to places and meet characters that Dorothy never dreamed of! Readers of all ages will enjoy Northern Oz. The story has unending fantasy, colorful characters* and timeless relevance. VjKelly NEW YORK TIMES / KEVIN ANDERSON Editor's Notes Client Name: Vincent Kelly Manuscript Title: Northern Oz Editor: JB / KEVIN ANDERSON & ASSOCIATES New York Times Bestselling Ghostwriters and Editors You've created an absolutely delightful and ingenious story, which draws on the numerous OZ books by L. F. Baum, and I was completely transfixed from the opening pages of the narrative. It's been a long time since I've read a novel that instantly transports the reader not only to a faraway land, but back to childhood as well, and there is something very comforting about that feeling, which stayed with me long after I read the final pages of your book. The story itself features strong cinematic elements, which is not an easy thing to accomplish in a market that is oversaturated with such tropes! I particularly love the detail and care you've put into imagining and describing this complex world, and the characters that inhabit it. Kristi and her makeshift OZ family are loveable, relatable, and finely drawn, and in Kristi herself, you've created an interesting heroine that draws on the legend of Dorothy and takes it to the next level. I adore the world that these characters inhabit! What a fresh and ingenious plotline, which, as I mentioned above, is indebted to the OZ series of books, without ever being derivative or clumsy. As a reader, I was totally drawn into their struggles as they maneuver the obstacles and wonders alike in their path in order to find the Wizard, and I loved the family dynamic you've created between Kristi, Obo, and the rest of the characters they meet along the way, which is extremely believable What a fresh and ingenious plotline, which, as I mentioned above, is indebted to the OZ series of books, without ever being derivative or clumsy. As a reader, I was totally drawn into their struggles as they maneuver the obstacles and wonders alike in their path in order to find the Wizard, and I loved the family dynamic you've created between Kristi, Obo, and the rest of the characters. You do an incredible job in detailing the surroundings of this world-I could literally picture everything you were describing as I read along, and you have a real talent for world building and descriptive settings. You've managed to create an entire world in only one volume of work, and that is something you should be very, very proud of. It's been a long time since I've read a novel this good, and I'm hungry for book two! Bravo!
