Not Bad for an Old Hide is a complete collection of the poems I have written to date as well as a true story about the night I spent under a tree in a snowstorm. The title originated with the poem by the same name but is also a phrase I have heard more times than I care to admit and seemed to fit the occasion. The poems are mostly true except for the ones which are not. The names of those involved have been used so they get credit for their escapades. My family and friends, as well as some of my own misadventures, have been the inspiration for my poetry. Cowboy poetry is a way of passing stories down through generations and so it is my hope that this book will carry my stories to my future generations.
