Carolyn Ramsey-Williams is a forty-year veteran teacher. She plans to use her retirement to write about the experiences she had with her students. Her interactions with a fifth-grade class sparked the storyline of Not Just a Dream. They were a generation faced with social change and making choices that could lead to getting along with each other. Carolyn hopes to give her readers situations that are familiar to them. Poetry is her favorite genre. The main themes of her writing are to teach a lesson, to reflect upon a particular time, or o help with decision-making. Durham, North Carolina is her home. She is a wife, a mother, and a granny. Kelly Carter-Miller is a professional illustrator and graphic designer living in North Carolina with her husband and two cats.
