Kirsten worked on this book spanning thirty years, her own therapy in navigating life in a dysfunctional family. Born in Denmark, out of wedlock to a toxic mother, Kirsten felt unwanted and searched for truth about her paternity. She eventually found peace and truth and new relationships. Kirsten married Ed and they have two children, two grandchildren, and all live in Canada.
