Nothing but the Blood - Meditations on the Blood of Christ offers reflections on the things that caused Jesus to bleed, or that got bloody. Beginning in the Garden of Gethsemane, where His sweat became "drops of blood," and going through the Passion and crucifixion, Tom Kingery invites readers to meditate on the whip, the crown of thorns, the purple robe, the cross, the nails, the spear, and the shroud. The author invites readers to consider questions such as: - What does atonement mean and why is it so important? - Why is the blood of Jesus precious to each one of us? - How can the "cares and riches and pleasures of life" be like thorns that can choke faith? - What does it mean that Pontius Pilate "found no crime" in Jesus? Think about what the blood of Christ means in the life of a believer, contemplate the extraordinary degree of suffering Jesus endured, and discover the depth of the sacrifice that He made for humanity with this devotional.
