The book deals in the first volume with 298 species and contains descriptions of 99 new notodontid taxa. A second volume will treat with the remaining 160 species and include also a comprehensive biogeographic analysis.
Autorenporträt
Alexander Schintlmeister, Ph.D. (1957), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, led many expeditions to study moths in most Asian countries, including about 10 expeditions to entire Indonesia. He is the author of several major publications on the moths of Vietnam (1997), the Notodontidae of China (Schintlmeister & Fang, 2001), the moths of Thailand (2007), the Palaearctic Notodontidae (Brill, 2008), a World catalogue of Insects, vol. 11 (Brill, 2013) and a monograph on the genus Lymantria (2004).
