These nine stories, scenes from a now-faraway youth, necessarily would have been misremembered, truncated, and therefore come into the present morphed into an entity quite distinct and separate from what they once were; however, they still bear the better telling. Thus, memory often shall bend the tale into something new, and apart from mere fact. Still, their telling is well-warranted, since all nine tales, snatched away from Mercury, do knit and meld themselves together to form a better, more fanciful whole to create a most pleasing portrait of the distant past.

Autorenporträt
Dominic M. Martin spent his childhood in a middle-class beach town near Los Angeles, and then his family moved out to the country where they established a small orange orchard and he learned about farming fundamentals including orchard layout, irrigation systems, trace elements, government overreach, and labor laws. After attending UC Davis and earning a degree in fermentation science, the author made wine and established vineyards for three decades before teaching those two subjects for one more. He enjoys running, fly fishing, motorcycling, and hiking in the high country.
