Nanotechnology offer diverse potential applications for many biotechnological as well as industrial processes. The search and discovery of novel nanoparticles and their applications has become challenge for many industries. Bio-synthesized silver and copper nanoparticles have made a noteworthy impact in industrial and biotechnological processes.Silkworm is the caterpillar of a moth in lepidoptera, the order of insects that includes moths and butterflies it is an economically significant insect being a primary producer of silk. Silkworm fecal matter is known for large number of biological activities such as anticancer, antibacterial, antiviral, antihypertensive and anti-diabetic. The silkworm fecal matter is composed of antiviral glycoproteins which inhibit various viruses such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Sendai virus (HVJ), herpes simplex virus etc.Silkworm fecal matter can also be used to biologically synthesize various novel nanoparticles for their biological applications such as antimicrobial applications, composite fibers, biosensor materials, cosmetic products, cryogenic superconducting materials etc.
