Residing and working for almost forty years in Europe and the Mideast, Bob is familiar with many of the terrorist organizations of the Cold War era. Those participating in this international game of nations, on both sides, were cautioned to be vigilant, very careful, to vary their daily travel schedules, to take alternate routes to work, and to always... always anticipate the unexpected. Decades later, with one or two exceptions, all but a handful of those previously engaged, on both sides, have departed the scene. Bob graduated from a University in Iraq in 1964. Fluent in four languages, for the next three decades he worked behind the scenes, countering the Soviet threat to NATO, the world's democracies and terrorist organizations, while collateral assignments included international arms transfers and those financing them. Returning to the United States in 1990, he spent the next four years in charge of a Mideast intelligence desk in Washington. Following his retirement in 1994, Bob ran three successful election campaigns and served for twelve years in public office. He was asked to serve with an American Foundation involved with human rights, civil society, and the peaceful resolution of international conflict. A prolific writer on international issues: in the last two decades, he has participated in scores of high level conferences across the United States and overseas: in Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, England, Germany, Israel, Jordan, and Turkey. He resides quietly in rural America.
