Hemodialysis is the most common method used to treat advanced and permanent kidney failure. Although it becomes the best procedure for most patients, it still a complicated therapy that requires a coordinated effort from whole health care team. Nephrology nurse should assist the patients in managing their health problems. Therefore; this study aimed to assess nurses' knowledge and practice provided to the patients undergoing hemodialysis. A convenient sample of 65 nurses working in hemodialysis units were selected over a period of six months. Two tools were developed to collect data, 1 Knowledge assessment sheet.2 Hemodialysis nurses' practice checklist. Results, more than half of the study sample had average knowledge regarding hemodialysis, while all of the study sample had an unsatisfactory level of practice. The study recommended that, the hospital should institute regular continuing training for nurses regarding care for the patients undergoing hemodialysis.
