This research sought to contribute to reflections and concerns about the work carried out by nurses in Basic Health Units with women, bearing in mind that their health is a priority in the context of the federal management of the Unified Health System (SUS), proposing targets to ensure access to primary services at all stages of the life cycle. Considering what is recommended in the SUS, it is possible to develop appropriate actions to assist women in the Family Health Strategy Units, qualify the know-how and provide visibility, autonomy and efficiency to the work.
