Suicidal ideation, suicide and self-injurious behaviors constitute an unavoidable public health problem, with suicide being one of the main causes of death in adolescence. These are very complex phenomena, which do not result from just one cause, but from multiple interactions between biological, psychological, social, and even cultural factors. To systematize knowledge about the nurse's interventions in the face of suicidal ideation in adolescents, was developed an integrative literature review, carried out from November 25th, 2021, to January 26th, 2022. The selected articles revealed flaws in the work performed by nurses in caring for adolescents with suicidal ideation. The lack of knowledge and lack of training on the part of nurses, as well as the taboos and consequent prejudices are also evident. Thus, nursing must be qualified to provide ethical and effective care, physically establishing the patient as it provides psychological support, prioritizing qualified listening and carefree from prejudice or value judgments.
