Many of the kids' books around us are focused on what children 'want', and their wants are influenced by their peers, social media, television etc. This book attempts to focus on what children 'need'. That we, as elders, know are the moral attributes that will hold our kids in good stead. The challenge, of course, is --- how do we impart these lessons to our kids, without boring them with long lectures in that serious tone that most of us (including the author) can recognize? Kids learn best when they see through the lens of a peer, and then think, interpret and realize on their own. This book attempts to bring in one such peer perspective. This book is not long and meandering. There's no fluff. While it is brief and crisp, it is not supposed to be that light a read. We recommend that you sit with your child when he/she reads this, not more than one story a day. That deliberate mode of reading will help ensure that the child is comprehending the content well. Each story tries to focus on a moral value. Contemplating for a bit about the conversations in each chapter would do better for your child, than just skimming through the chapters. In short, you can play a big role here, this book being just a catalyst.
