Autorenporträt
Daisy "DJ" Garza was born in Harlingen, TX. She is the seventh out of eight children in her family. DJ and her family had a difficult upbringing as Migrant farm workers and as a daughter of a single parent, her mom. (DJ's father passed away when she was nine years old) From an early age, DJ was determined to make something great out of her life. Quitting wasn't an option for her. Instead, determination and perseverance were always a must in whatever she attempted.

DJ has now been an Elementary Education educator for 31 years. She has earned her Master's degree in Elementary Education and is currently attending Our Lady of the Lake University-RGV as a doctoral student. Her goals are to continue writing children's books that not only enhance the early literacy skills of children but also to enrich their educational foundation through vocabulary and concept-building. DJ also envisions herself teaching at the University level upon completion of her PH.D in three years.

DJ is very proud of her two Veteran sons, J. Eduardo Rodriguez (Edward-U.S. Navy) and Jaime Elias Rodriguez (Eli-U.S. Marine Corps). DJ is also proud of her daughter, Elizabet Rodriguez and her beautiful granddaughter, Eliana Lauren Rodriguez.
