Trauma is a major cause of admission to hospitals by oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Maxillofacial operations generally compromise the ability to eat or drink in the early postoperative period. El Dr. Shahid Farooq ha hecho su BDS de la universidad dental del gobierno y el hospital srinagar en el año 2012, después de que completó su MDS en cirugía oral y maxilofacial en 2018 de la misma institución. Tiene 15 publicaciones nacionales e internacionales en su nombre. Actualmente trabaja como registrador en el departamento de OMFS, GDC Srinagar.
