Dr. Stephen T. Sinatra is a board-certified cardiologist and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut. He is certified as a bioenergetic psychotherapist, and nutrition and anti-aging specialist. He is the founder of www.heartmdinstitute.com, an informational website dedicated to promoting public awareness of integrative medicine as well as www.vervana.com a website focused on high vibrational living and foods. His expertise if grounded in more than forty years of clinical practice, research, and study beginning as an attending physician at Manchester Memorial Hospital. His career included nine years as Chief of Cardiology, nineteen years as Director of Medical Education and seven years as Director of Echocardiography. Today, Dr. Sinatra is active primarily as an author, speaker, and advisor for the research and development of targeted nutritional supplements. He joined the Healthy Directions family in 1995 and his nutritional supplements are offered on drsinatra.com. His credentials include the following: Board-certified, American Board of Internal Medicine Board-certified, American College of Cardiology Fellow of the American College of Cardiology Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), American Board of Nutrition Fellow, American College of Nutrition Certified Bioenergetic Psychotherapist Certified American Board of Anti-aging Medicine Dr. Sinatra was one of the first cardiologists to recognize the important healing power of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)-which sparks energy production in every cell of your body, including your heart. In fact, he personally met Fred Crane, the researcher who discovered it. He began using CoQ10 with his patients in the early 1980s and has done extensive research on CoQ10 in rodent, human, and equine models. He has published more than two dozen articles on the impact of coenzymeQ10 in supporting animal as well as human health. After utilizing CoQ10 in his own pets for more than two decades, he realized that CoQ10 not only supported the animal's health and wellbeing, but also longevity as well, which he also observed in his own cardiac patients. In fact, Dr. Sinatra feels his greatest contributions to health and healing include his research on Coenzyme Q10 and metabolic cardiology as well as earthing's beneficial relationship to zeta potential, blood thinning, and blood viscosity. He has authored 20 books including The Great Cholesterol Myth, The Sinatra Solution - Metabolic Cardiology, Earthing: The most important health discovery ever, Heartbreak and Heart Disease, Health Revelations from Heaven and Earth, etc. His most recent book is "Get Grounded, Get Well." Dr. Sinatra has also appeared on many TV shows including Dr. Oz, The Doctors, The Today Show, The 700 Club, Fox on Health, MSNBC and Your Health. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards in the integrative medical field including Excellence in Health Journalism. He feels his most significant legacy is his contribution on metabolic cardiology. Mark C. Houston, MD, MS, MSc, FACP, FAHA, FASH, FACN, ABAARM, FAARM, DABC, is the Director of the Hypertension Institute and Vascular Biology, Medical Director of the Division of Human Nutrition and Medical Director of Clinical Research at the Hypertension Institute in Nashville, TN. He is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Care Sciences at George Washington University (GWU) School of Medicine and Health Science. He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine then as an Associate Professor of Medicine from 1978-1990 at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and was Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, (VUMS) (1990-2012). He has four board certifications by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Society of Hypertension (ASH) (FASH-Fellow), the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM, FAARM) and American Board of Cardiology (ABC) Certification in Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease (DABC). He holds two Masters of Science degrees in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, CT (MS) and another in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine (University of South Florida School of Medicine-Tampa (MSc). He was selected as one of the top physicians in the US in Cardiovascular Medicine in 2018 by the US Consumer Research Council. Dr Houston was also was named as one of the Top Physicians in Hypertension in the US in 2008-2014 by the Consumer Research Council. He was honored by USA Today as one of the Most Influential Doctors in the US in both Hypertension and Hyperlipidemia twice in 2009- 2010. He was selected as The Patient's Choice Award in 2010 -2012 by Consumer Reports USA. He was selected one of the Top 100 physicians in the US by the American Health Council in 2017 and one of the Top 50 Functional and Integrative Medical Doctors in the USA in August 2017. He was also named one of America's Best Physicians in Cardiology 2018 by the National Consumer Advisory Board. In 2019 he was elected to the Continental WHO'S WHO as a Top Doctor in the field of Medicine as the Medical Director and Founder of the Hypertension Institute. Dr. Houston has presented over 10,000 lectures, nationally and internationally and published over 250 medical articles, scientific abstracts in peer reviewed medical journals, books and book chapters. He is an author, teacher, clinician and researcher. He has published nine books.
