To evaluate nutritional significance of edible wild and unconventional fruits, 13 samples were collected from different areas of Pakistan. The fruits were analyzed for moisture, ash, vitamin C by Spectrophotometer, Sugars (Glucose, fructose & sucrose), macro minerals (Na, K, Ca and Mg) and micro nutrients (Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn and Fe) by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Due to lack of information available on energy, micro and macro nutrients composition of these fruits and their role in contemporary diet, the assessment was carried out on the basis of nutritional quality. All these fruits were found quite rich in nutrients. Furthermore, as these fruits have not yet been considered as an alternate food products, measures to be taken to conserve or utilize these fruits, in order to reduce wastage.
