Born in 1948 in Fukuoka, Japan, Jack has lived most of his life in Japan. He and his wife, Cathy, have two daughters. A graduate of Carson-Newman College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the United States, he is the pastor of Shinsei no Sato Christian Church in Omura, Nagasaki, Japan.
