Although it was first settled in the 1830s, Oak Park did not become an independent municipality until it split from Cicero Township in 1902. Drawing on an extensive collection of unique and notable postcards, author Mr. Deuchler is an active and accomplished Oak Park resident. He currently serves on the boards of both the Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest, and the Friends of Oak Park Public Library. He is also a docent for both the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, and Pleasant Home in Oak Park.
