As mother, foster mother, teacher, early intervention specialist, and play group facilitator, Sylvia Wetherby has spent more than fifty years reading to children. When she was a child, two of her favorite activities were playing outdoors and reading books. In retirement, she has put those things together to write children's books about the mysteries of nature.She created the character Percival for a writing assignment a long time ago. He lived in her imagination from then until the pandemic provided time for illustration. Sylvia and Percival share his adventures in Oak Seed and Sylvia's other books, Madame Monarch and Polly Gone.
