After a five-year absence, she must return to her ailing father's Emirate to be by his side. She faces grave danger of being stoned to death by her uncle, the Foreign Minister, who condemned her grandmother to the same fate when Jessie was eleven-years-old. Dan and Jessie's brief romance is abruptly curtailed upon learning that his daughter has been lost in the plane crash. Only Dan suspects the unfolding events may be an elaborate hoax.
