Oath enrolls a basic pillar of the language that people use daily. However, the variety in the oath expressions raises the problematic question about the cause of it among some societies, even though the concept of the oath is one. So, this book investigates the similarities and differences between oath expressions in English and Arabic ceremonies. It aims to compare the oath expressions in both languages' ceremonies to discover the similarities and differences in constructing them; Find out the semantic and pragmatic aspects of the selected oaths regarding language meta-functions, speech acts, and presupposition; and Explore their strategies.
