L Chance Shiver is a Science Fiction writer living on a small mountain near Asheville, North Carolina. Native to Washington, DC and surrounding Virginia and Maryland, however, Chance is still deeply tied to Washington and particularly to the area surrounding Rock Creek, the Potomac River and the C&O Canal National Park. These settings figure prominently in the his forthcoming novel, The Oberlin Anomaly. Chance holds a B.A. in English from George Mason College of the University of Virginia. When not writing Chance spends most of his time looking east from his mountain home to the Blue Ridge Mountains and touring the South East playing early country and Old-time music with his wife Susette as their duet, The Shivers.
