Obesity is associated with Metabolic Syndrome as indicated by the presence of hypertension, dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia with insulin resistance (type-2 diabetes) and low grade inflammation. These hemodynamic, metabolic and biochemical changes may predispose to structural, histopathologic and functional alteration in the kidney. Also, the obesity associated disorders even the nephropathologic manifestation can be reversed or ameliorated with reduction in body fat and body weight induced by dietary energy restriction.

Dr. Mohamed Shaaban obtained his PhD. degree in Physiology from Faculty of science, Zagazig University, Egypt in 2017. Works in pharmaceutical industry. He is an author of a book in Lap publishing and articles in several journals.
