The objective is to estimate the frequency of T2DM in the health centers of the Oujda prefecture, as well as its relationship with two modifiable risk factors, namely obesity and physical activity.The sociodemographic and bioclinical data of 535 persons aged 18 years and over and recruited by random sampling, were collected using a structured and comprehensible questionnaire translated into the Oujdi dialect. Another IPAQ questionnaire was used to assess participants' physical activity. The association of diabetes with gender, residence, educational level, occupation, obesity and physical activity was analyzed. Our sample was characterized by a clear dominance of the female sex (85%), and an estimated frequency of type 2 diabetes of 10% and 2% in pre-diabetes. More than half of the participants in the study were illiterate: 52%, and 84% had no occupation, 71% were obese or overweight and 57% were physically inactive. T2DM was related to gender (p=0.009), occupation (0.02), physical activity (p=0.02) and obesity (p=0.05).
