Currently, the large number of types of ionizing materials used in water treatment in the world allows effective purification of wastewater from chemical pollutants, including toxic metal ions, using ionizing processes. Despite of numerous studies, the improvement of ionizing methods for the separation and concentration of metals remains an urgent and primary task in water treatment in the hydrometallurgical industry. That is why it is important to develop a technology for obtaining mechanically strong, stable in various aggressive environments, with high sorption capacity, selective ionites based on local, cheap raw materials. In the world, scientific research works are being carried out in priority directions in order to develop a new type of complex-forming ionites with unique physico-chemical properties, containing nitrogen and oxygen donor atoms, forming complexes with some metal ions and heavy organic compounds in the solution, determining the kinetics of ion sorption, and the mechanisms of formation of complexes formed during sorption.
