Today, the commune of Yopougon, like other communes of Abidjan and several cities in Côte d'Ivoire, is beginning a development process that must at least be sustainable, given the last eviction operation carried out by the government after the crisis that our country experienced. To this end, it is important to take a look at the environmental problems (air and soil pollution, anarchic occupation of space in relation to the practice of commercial activities) in order to take them into account in this process. The major problem raised by our study is the urban disorder observed in Yopougon. Consequently, the objective of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of the problems caused by street trading in the commune of Yopougon. In other words, it will show how the sidewalks reserved for pedestrians are disappearing, crowded with the stalls of certain vendors, and how these activities in the public space constitute an environmental hazard. The methodological approach adopted to conduct this study took into account a bibliographic synthesis and field surveys.
