The findings of this study showed that occupational dust can significantly influences cardiovascular parameters of the exposed workers negatively. Such cardiovascular parameters include P-wave duration, T-wave duration, PR-interval, P-axis, T-axis, QRS-axis, diastole, systole, mean arterial pressure and pulse rate of the occupationally exposed workers. The observed adverse effect of quarry and wood dust may be attributed to their composed biologically active low molecular compounds such as lignans, alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenes from wood dust and respirable crystalline silica from quarry…mehr

The observed adverse effect of quarry and wood dust may be attributed to their composed biologically active low molecular compounds such as lignans, alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenes from wood dust and respirable crystalline silica from quarry dust. These extractives have been classified by International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to be harmful to health.
