Diana Starovoytova es profesora de Ingeniería en el MIT y ambientalista. Desde 2012 ha publicado dos libros, más de 70 artículos científicos y ha patentado un invento. Ha investigado en la Universidad de Moi (Kenia), la Universidad de Gante (Bélgica) y la Universidad Estatal de Textil y Diseño de San Petersburgo (Rusia).
