Three fishermen adrift at sea. A battered log of wood their only hope of survival. Deftly interwoven with the gripping account of their ordeal is the larger story of a fishing community struggling to stay afloat as it contends with the relentless waves of social, political, religious and economic changes which threaten to wash over it. With camera-like close-ups of people, things, and events, this work is the English translation of Joe D'Cruz's Tamil novel Aazhi Soozh Ulagu.
