The program provides an intellectually rigorous and academically demanding curriculum for students in schools around the world. IB emphasizes critical thinking and research skills as part of the learning process. Students take classes in English, science, mathematics, social studies, and foreign language. In addition, a 4,000 word extended essay, a Theory of Knowledge class, and 150 hours of community service are required for the full diploma which is awarded from the IB office in Geneva, Switzerland.
